Live Under the Sun will feature several local youth bands performing their originals and cover songs from a variety of rock and pop superstars. Shining a light on local talent is a primary objective of Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater and many of these youngsters rocked our stage last September with their END OF SUMMER JAM.
Bands performing will include:
SR-22
is a Jeff City rock band that delivers solid music and vocals across alternative, modern, and classic rock genres in an energetic, connecting performance. Jeff City high school friends Gage Moore (bass), Eric Hargis II (vocals and lead guitar), Brent Henderson (vocals and rhythm guitar), and Matthew Mulder (drums) formed the band in 2019. Alivia Bise, joined them in 2021, blending in her comfortable lead vocals and adding a spark to the band’s engaging stage presence. The band’s set list includes favorite covers such as Heart’s Magic Man, Weezer’s Say It Ain’t So, and Paramore’s Still Into You. Original hits include Last Chance to Dance, Lock Me Up, and Bluelight. SR-22 has performed at popular Jeff City music venues and was a crowd favorite at the 2021 End of Summer Jam.
Toasterbath
is a local band formed of friends back when they were only 14 and have been playing indie and soothing soulful music ever since. Quickly their sound garnered a devout following of family and friends whenever they played such venues as The Mission, West Main Pizza, Buck-A-Bone, Serenity Valley Winery, Porchfest, and headlining many End of Summer Jam shows. Bella Parker (vocals) is backed by Lindsey Tuinstra (acoustic guitar, backing vocals) and Caitlyn Davis (Bass and rhythm guitar) with guests Oliva Taylor (vocals) and Ryan Grosvenor. The band’s setlist includes favorite covers such as Scott Street by Phoebe Bridgers, Phantogram’s When I’m Small, and Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People. They also have their own original hits such as Earrings, Long Hard Life, and Inflated.
New Car Scent
features Colin Shepard (guitar), Rachel Kelly (bass), Zach Gaines (vocals and guitar), and Julian Quinn (drums). They have an album and a few singles up on all streaming platforms under New Car Scent.
Ruby Lane
is a 5-piece band based out of Columbia, Missouri. A shared love of hard rocking, funk filled, bluesy and psychedelic tunes mush together for a sound you simply can't find elsewhere. This band takes a shared love of all genres of music to create their own style of jams. Ranging from blues, rock, funk or jazz they try to share grooves worth dancing and jamming to. "Jefferson City is ready to experience some of the very talented youth we have. There was a need to bring them in to the light, to showcase them and show everyone what they have to offer for entertainment. I'm very proud of what all of them have accomplished on their own. Many of them are self-taught, not only in playing music but creating their own. They have many creative original songs and it's exciting to see and hear what have to offer. Hopefully they will inspire future generations to do the same." - Chad Tuinstra
